Polythene tubing is an excellent option for packing long cylindrical objects. Polythene tubing is often used for packing objects made from wood or metal. Heavy duty layflat tubing is 500 gauge/125 microns thick and can handle very heavy, pointed objects. Most companies using poly tubing use an impulse heat sealer to close both open ends.
All layflat tubing film is manufactured from 100% pure, high clarity polythene film and is thus suitable for food use.
For larger orders, layflat tubing can be manufactured to any width required. They can be printed but subject to a minimum order quantity and stereo stencils.

- Layflat tubing is suitable for high volume packaging operations.
- Each layflat tubing roll is pre-opened for easy insertion.
- 250 gauge (63 micron) thickness has very good strength and OK clarity and used for protecting heavy and abrasive items. Please refer to the film thickness guide for further information on layflat tubing roll film thickness.

- Size specification: The first measurement gives the width of the layflat tubing roll. Please note the measurement width of the tubing represents the flat width of the tube, not the diameter after being filled.

- Heavy duty layflat tubing is water tight and is often used for air-ducting.
- Heavy duty layflat tubing can be used for wrapping and freezing foods and is stable at deep freeze levels.
- We can make stronger layflat tubing: 700 gauge layflat tubing or even 1000 gauge layflat tubing. However, these layflat rolls must be made to order. They require specific machine set up and a larger order quantity: typically 10 layflat rolls minimum.
- 500 gauge (127 micron) thickness has excellent strength and slightly cloudy clarity and can be used for protecting abrasive items such as bolts and screws. Please refer to the film thickness guide for further information on layflat tubing roll film thickness.

Impulse heat sealer
- Heat sealers forms a tight, secure seal on polythene and polypropylene film with no warm-up necessary.
- Adjustable timer controls to suit a wide variety of films from 2 x 25 microns (2 x 100 gauge) to 2 x 200 microns (2 x 800 gauge). Electricity is used only when heat sealers bar is down creating a 2mm seal.
- Heat sealers with no cutter are ideal for sealing bags. Heat sealers with cutter are used for sealing layflat tubing rolls. Please choose width that is wider than the layflat tubing being sealed.
- Adjustable timer controls to suit a wide variety of films from 2 x 25 microns (2 x 100 gauge) to 2 x 200 microns (2 x 800 gauge).
- Electricity is used only when heat sealers bar is down creating a 2mm seal.

- The impulse heat sealer uses heated sealing wires that are triggered when the sealing bar is pressed close. The sealing bar is made of a silicone seal pad able to withstand direct heat contact. The sealing bar presses on the wire and film to melt and mend the material forming a seal.
- Impulse heat sealer can be used with layflat tubing and polythene bags to make bespoke packaging solutions.

Center folded layflat tubing
- Polythene sheets are pre cut on one side. Simply open the poly tubing wide to form a single sheet.
- Polythene sheets are ideal for covering large items such as furniture and flooring.
- Polythene sheets are widely used to protect the top of pallets from dirt and moisture.
